HEY THERE,
I'M JACOB SIMONSEN

I'm a Graphic Designer from the Pacific Northwest but located currently in DeLand, Florida. Growing up in a family of artists, I have been blessed with exposure to the arts for as long as I can remember. From sketching all day with my grandparents, learning how to play drums with my dad, and witnessing countless floral arrangements on our dining room table made by my mom. Looking back, I believe that this constant exposure is why I have the interests and career that I have now, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I have a deep love for nature and always feel most at home when I'm out in the wilderness of the PNW. From managing the marketing of Whitworth University's Outdoors program to working at a climbing gym in Florida, I can't seem to help but be involved in the outdoors. I'm passionate for the automotive industry and motorsport community, and am inspired to create by the beauty of cars and the atmosphere of motorsports.

I graduated in 2024 with my B.A. in Graphic Design at Whitworth University in Spokane Washington, then got married to my best friend Rylan and relocated to DeLand, Florida! In my free time I enjoy detailing vehicles, climbing at my local climbing gym, and going to local races!

WORK WITH ME!
I'd love to bring your ideas to life!

"DESIGN CREATES COMMUNITY, AND COMMUNITY IS EVERYTHING."

My motivation to create comes from a desire develop better community. Due to my faith, I believe that we are meant to be in constant community with each other, and we are at our best when we feel connected. Using digital design, I strive to encourage connectivity by exploring retro inspired color palettes, keeping emotional appeal a priority, and trying to create interactive and functional products. I am passionate for type based design as it holds the unique ability to influence us both visually and intellectually. Doodling as a kid led me to discover my love for graphic design, and this remains a vital part of my creative process. When approaching design, I enjoy controlling emotional appeal and want my art to help the viewer to form a personal connection to the visuals. Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop allow me to create graphics and illustrations without limits. I enjoy transferring my work from digital media to print production, and have significant experience in print production and package design. My mission for my art is to influence closer community and remind us as individuals that we can share in the emotional connectivity that art produces in us.
